FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How far in advance do I need to place an order?
Please place your order at least one month in advance as my schedule does book up quickly. Depending on the intricacy of the order, I may be able to accept orders 2 weeks in advance at the latest.
For weddings, I highly recommend placing your order at least 2-3 months in advance of your wedding date.
Do I need a deposit to make an order?
A non-refundable retainer fee of 50% of your total is required to secure all orders.
For weddings, a $100 Save the Date deposit is required to secure your wedding cake. This deposit is non-refundable and will be applied to the total cost of your order.

I will allow up to 48 hours to make this payment before your date is given to another customer.
What if I need to make changes or cancel my order?
Any changes or cancellations must be made no later than one week prior to the pick up or delivery date.
For wedding cakes, reasonable changes to your order may be made up to two weeks prior to the event. Additional costs may be incurred and your contract will need need to be amended depending on the nature of the changes. Changes requested less than two weeks prior to the event will be considered, but may be denied.

All cancellations must be done in writing.
Does Sweet Slices Deliver?
Please inquire upon consultation. I typically deliver to locations within DC, Maryland, and parts of Virginia with a max radius of 25 miles from Laurel or Ellicott City, MD.
There is an additional fee of $1.00 per mile (roundtrip- based on Google Maps).

Upon arrival at delivery location, the order must be received within 30 minutes. If the cake is not received within this time, you will need to schedule a new date and/or time to pick up the cake.
Note: In the event of a date and or time reschedule, the delivery fee will not be refunded.
What methods of payment are accepted?
All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) and cash are accepted.
Payment can also be accepted electronically via Paypal, CashApp ($sweetslicescakes), and Venmo (@sweetslicescake)
Do you have gluten free options?
Yes! Most of my cakes and desserts can be converted to be gluten free. For more information, please inquire upon consultation and ordering.
